Bio:

Rajan Bhimji Vankar not only sells their own work but also features and sells pieces created by other artists—including family members, community members, business partners, and collaborators involved in the creative process.

Their artistic lineage traces back over 600 years to the Marwada community of Rajasthan, who migrated to Kutch and became known as the Vankar for their mastery of traditional Kutch weaving in Gujarat. Historically, the Vankar weavers used hand-spun cotton yarn provided by the Ahir and Patel farming communities, along with wool from the Rabari and Jat pastoral groups. Weaving was a deeply rooted local art form that served the needs of Kutch communities by providing blankets, garments, and traditional attire.
