Bio:

Ikramov Samadjon Sadullayevich was born on March 18, 1987, in the city of Bukhara, on Usta Shirin Street, house number 3, into a family of blacksmiths. As a seventh-generation blacksmith, he carries forward a proud family tradition that has been passed down through the ages. Today, his children—representing the eighth generation—are also learning the craft, ensuring its continuity into the future.

He currently works at the family’s blacksmithing workshop, located within the historic monument Toqi Zargaron, where he practices and preserves the art of traditional metalwork alongside his children. For Ikramov, blacksmithing is far more than a profession; it is a way of life, a living connection to his ancestors, and a cultural responsibility to pass on invaluable knowledge and skills.

His work reflects the rich heritage of Uzbekistan, particularly Bukhara, where metalwork has been an integral part of the region’s identity for centuries. Using time-honored techniques refined over generations, he produces handmade knives, scissors, and other tools, each crafted with care to ensure both durability and artistry. The sales of these items not only support his family but also contribute to preserving a vital cultural tradition.

Ikramov has had the honor of showcasing his craftsmanship internationally in countries such as Germany, Italy (alongside his sons), England, Israel, the United States (on five occasions), Malaysia, and Singapore. Through these experiences, he continues to share the legacy of Bukhara's blacksmithing tradition with the world.
